Vada's with coconut chutney

These little crunchy bites of heaven could be eaten at any time of the day.
They are just so tasty especially dipped in coconut chutney.
It is normally eaten in India as a breakfast dish, we used to have it as a an afternoon snack. If you have never tried this tasty snack and love lentils you will love these ;)
1 cup urad dal 1/4 teaspoon salt or to taste Oil for deep frying
1/2 teaspoon baking powder 2 to 3 green chilies (chopped) 1 sprig curry leaves (chopped) ½ teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera) 1 teaspoon ginger fine grated

Wash dhal and soak overnight.
Grind dhal with salt adding a little water at a time. You will end up with a nice fluffy thickish and nicely aerated batter.
When you mixture is ready heat your oil .
Wet the palm of you hand and with a small amount of batter make your mixture into a donut and fry.
Serve with coconut chutney

Ingredients for your quick coconut chutney
2 tbs of desiccated coconut
1 teaspoon of chopped ginger light fry
2 cloves garlic chopped lightly fry
2 green chilli lightly fry
4 Curry leaves lightly fry
Mix all together with two heaped teaspoons of yogurt
Salt to taste.
