The Good Mother Experience.
Cook. Connect. Remember.

The spirit of manci Amma
Cooking School
Manci Amma means "Good Mother" A name that evokes warmth, instinct, and inherited care. Inspired by Fran's British and Burmese heritage, this offering is not just a cooking course. It's a return to self, to community, and to breaking bread, sharing stories, memories, and meals with family and friends.

“More Than just Cooking”
This isn’t all about perfect technique or polished presentation. It’s about grounding, care, and connection.
A Three-hour, heart-led session.
-
You settle into yourself and into a shared space

-
Cooking becomes slowly instinctive, not instructional

-
Seasoning, timing, and slow touch become small rituals of care

-
Food is the fuel in what we’re really offering in the presence, belonging, and that deep, human nourishment that lingers long after the meal.

-
Fran’s guidance is instinctive, gentle, and full of joy. Whether you're slicing onions or sprinkling seasoning into oil and bread, everything is taught in a way that feels accessible, relaxed, and rooted in real home cooking. You’ll pick up practical skills, kitchen confidence, and a few tricks you’ll quietly treasure.

-
The class includes shared time around the table with a glass of wine (or a soft alternative), where conversation flows as freely as the food. You’ll sit, eat, and connect, not just with your cooking, but with each other.
